For use by rescue services, a vacuum mattress with integrated cervical vertebrae and head support has a cushion (b) with two loop-like bands (c,d) attached to the mattress. Pref. at least one of the bands is permeable to air and has an air-tight attachment to the cushion and vacuum mattress. The bands pref. are of a slidable material and the cushion has a rigid PVC insert.
