Method of mfg. an exhaust inlet connection for catalytic converter of motor vehicle

Exhaust inlet connection for motor vehicle catalytic converter is mfd. by a method in which a straight tube in put in a sizing die corresp. to at least one connection, the ends of the tube being sealed pressure tight and one end being connected to a pressure source. A liquid pressure medium is forced into the interior of the tube and then the two end openings are plane cut in the formed tube removed from the die. Also claimed is an arrangement for carrying out the method with a sizing die (3) consisting of an upper shell and a lower shell, and a sealing mandrel (9) at each end of the tube, with a pressure medium supplied through at least one of the mandrels to the tube.
