The workpiece is retained, conveyed and transferred by a device (1) which includes a clamp. There is a chuck for the carrier and a socket wrench with a clamp. The workpiece retaining, conveying and transferring clamp is rotatably mounted in the casing (29) of the device.An elastic element (30,31) is located between the casing of the device and the clamp bearing (32), with the new centre determined by the retaining clamping and screwing chuck. Pref. the clamp is in the form of a multi-finger collet (2), whose fingers (21) are movable towards and away from each other.
