Motor driven pump for fuel

The motor driven pump has a pump body through which a medium such as fuel is delivered from a suction to a pressure side. The pump is capable of adjusting its efficiency. The pump has an impeller (4) located in a chamber (3), the chamber being axially limited via side plates (5,9).The adjustment of the pump efficiency is achieved via at least one of the side plates which is designed to be axially sliding. The sliding side plate is tensioned towards the pump chamber via a spring (13). The side plate is connected to a radial restraining ring (6) via an elastic membrane (12).
