<p>A personal portable water purifying and drinking device (10). The device (10) includes a conduit having a chemical purification stage (12) positioned at one end of the conduit, and a filtration stage (14) positioned at the opposite end of the conduit. The chemical purification stage (12) includes a chemical purifying agent (20) and a residence chamber (26) to neutralize bacteria and viruses. The filtration stage (14) includes a filter (38) and a cleaning medium (34), the filter (38) having a diameter larger than the diameter of the conduit, and designed to remove exceedingly small microorganisms, such as potentially harmful parasites 1-2 νm in size, from the water to be filtered. A mouthpiece (16) is mounted after the filtration stage (14) of the conduit to draw fluid through the device (10) and into the user's mouth.</p> |
