A fibre shaft (1) with three air-impermeable walls (2) and with an air-permeable wall (3) has an air/fibre-mixture inlet orifice (17) and two discharge rollers (14). Connected to the perforated, that is to say air-permeable wall (3) is an air channel (4) and, to the latter, a cone (5), at the end of which there is a device according to the invention for regulating the air flow volume, consisting of the throttle flap (6), of the weight arm (9) with the sliding weight (10) and of a stop (7), on which the throttle flap is seated in the state of rest. The throttle flap (6) has a boss (15) which is provided with a slot (not shown here), so that, even in the state of rest of the throttle flap (6), a minimum air flow can flow from the diffuser (5) into an outgoing-air channel (13). The weight (10) is arranged displaceably on the weight arm (9), in order thereby to select a torque which is lower than the torque of the flap (6). As a result of this torque ratio, the flap (6) can be opened with only a little, for example with a 30 mm water column, and, with the aid of a little kinetic energy by means of the torque consisting of the weight and weight arm, remains open until the air flow remains interrupted, so that the higher torque of the throttle flap (6) closes the latter again.
