Process for grinding clinker in the presence of a grinding assistant chosen from phosphonate cpds. of formula Z2N-(CH2)n-NZ-ä-Ä-(CH2)n-NZÜx-(CH2)m-NZüy-NZ2</ SB> (I), Z2N-Ä-(CH2)n-NZ-Üx-Z (II), CR2R3R3R4 (III) and HO-Ä-(CH2)n-NZ-Üx-Z (IV) and the N-oxides of (I), (II), (III) and (IV) in which Z = -CHR<1>PO3R<2>; R = H, Me, Et or M; M = a metal ion or NH4; R<1> = H, Me, CR3, C6H5 or SO3H2; R<2> = 1-5C alkyl; R<3> = PO3R2; R<4> = OH or NH2; n = 2-6 (2-4); x = 0-6 (0-3); and y = 0-6 (0-2). The additive is used in an amt. of 0.001-2 (0.02-1) wt.% w.r.t. the dry wt. of the clinker. |
