Ink and sheet for ink jet recording and ink recording method

A method of recording an image on a recording sheet is disclosed which comprises the step of jetting an ink from a nozzle onto the recording sheet, wherein the ink contains a dye capable of co-ordinate bonding with a metal ion in two or more coordination positions and the recording sheet includes a compound containing a metal ion (Ni) which is capable of co-ordinate bonding with the dye in two or more coordination positions to record the image on a recording sheet. The compound containing a metal ion (Ni) may have been applied to the recording sheet as an ink jet, prior to the application of the first named ink jet.
