The holder or attachment device is used in a vehicle for mechanical handling of goods. It has a vehicle-side reception opening into which a plug tube (5) forming part of a holder (6) can be inserted to create a connection with the data terminal. The opening in the vehicle and the plug tube both have a cylindrical cross-section. The opening is formed in a cylinder sleeve (4) which is welded into a wall of the vehicle. The sleeve is arranged on the upper side (2) of the bar.
