<p>PURPOSE:To monitor insulating condition continuously by incorporating a plurality of miniature pressure sensors in a push metal of a premold stress cone at a prefabericated joint or termination of a CV cable thereby monitoring the push load. CONSTITUTION:A prefabricated joint of a CV cable 1' is stripped in step to expose a conductor 2 to which a joint pipe 3 is applied and connected. A premold stress cone 6' is then applied on conical recesses 5a made on the right and left(only the right side is shown) of an epoxy insulation tube 5 buried with an electrode 4 and the conductive part 6a' on the back thereof is retained by a metal 9' provided with a plurality of pressure sensors 10. The retainer metal 9' is energized by a spring seat 9a', a spring 8' and a push flange 12. Output from the pressure sensor 10 is fed on a lead wire 16 to a data collecting part 15. According to the method, insulating condition at the joint can be monitored continuously even during operation.</p> |
