摘要 PURPOSE:To obtain a new alkali-resistant cellulase having the optimum pH in an alkaline region or keeping a high activity even in an alkaline region and useful as a detergent admixture component for clothing. CONSTITUTION:This alkali-resistant cellulase K-539 is active on CMC, powdery cellulose, avicell, filter paper or p-nitrophenylcellovioside and capable of synthesizing a reducing sugar such as glucose. The optimum pH is 7 and the relative activity in a region of pH4 to 11 is >=50% based on the activity at the optimum pH. The optimum temperature is 60 deg.C and the action temperature is 15 to 85 deg.C. This cellulase is not scarcely inhibited by any surfactant, remarkably resistive to all the proteases and scarcely affected by a chelating agent. This cellulase is obtained by culturing Bacillus sp. KSM-539 (FERM P-9011).
