PURPOSE: To obtain a binder for electrodes which comprises a hydrogenated diene polymer as homopolymer or random copolymer and a fluoropolymer and firmly adheres an active substance to the electrode substrate without deterio ration in electrode characteristics. CONSTITUTION: A hydrogenated product of less than 120 iodine value obtained by hydrogenating a homopolymer or a diene polymer comprising a random copolymer whose more than 70wt.% recurring unit is of a conjugated diene monomer, 10-70wt.% is of an unsaturated nitrile monomer or 10-70wt.% is of a vinyl aromatic monomer and/or a fluoropolymer of the formula ((p), and (q) are each an integer more than 0; (r) and (s) are each a natural number; R<1> -R<4> are each a <=2C alkyl, H) are used to this binder for electrodes showing prolonged charge-discharge cycle life bacause the active substance firmly adheres to the electrodes, thus the elimination of the substance from the electrodes is inhibited and the deterioration by the electrodes can be suppressed. |
