PURPOSE: To obtain a leuco compd. excellent in color forming properties, color erasing properties and image stability by using a fluorane compd. represented by a specific formula as the leuco compd. CONSTITUTION: In a reversible thermal recording material based on a leuco compd, a coupling and erasing agent reacting with the leuco compd. thermally to form or erase a color and a binder, as the leuco compd., a fluorane compd. represented by formula (wherein A is a pyrrolidino or piperidino group and A1 and A2 are a hydrogen atom, a 8 or less C alkyl group or an alkoxy group) is used. A recording layer containing the reversible thermal recording material is provided on a support and a protective layer is provided on the recording layer to obtain a reversible thermal recording medium having recording characteristics excellent in color forming and erasing properties and excellent image preservability. |
