A complex filter apparatus for correcting a complex valued input television signal Y having the real and the imaginary parts Yr and Yi to produce a complex filtered output television signal Z having the real and the imaginary parts Zr and Zi comprises: three filters having their respective filter coefficients (Cr+Ci), Ci and Cr; a first adder for producing an output of (Yr+Yi); a first subtractor for producing an output of (Yr-Yi); a second subtractor for producing an output Yr(Cr+Ci)-(Yr+Yi)Ci as the real part Zr; and a third subtractor for generating an output Yr(Cr+Ci)-(Yr-Yi)Cr as the imaginary part Zi.
