A piece of furniture is disclosed which includes a three-dimensional body portion produced by bending a plate shaped, thin and essentially rigid metal blank (1) and is distinguished by the body portion having a stabilising and load supporting function, said blank being cut and/or punched out to a shape which after bending gives the three-dimensional shape, provided with bending initiators or notches in the form of perforations after determined bending lines (5a, 5b, 5c), such that the user by hand or with simple tools, is able to bend the blank (1) to the final shape, and whereby the stabilising and load supporting function is obtained by at least certain bends (5d, 5e) extending along bending initiators (5a, 5b, 5c) and being reinforcements for the body portion. A blank (1) for producing such a piece of furniture is also disclosed as well as a locking element for fixing a corner portion of such a piece of furniture. |
