PURPOSE: To reconcile both traction performance and cornering characteristic on ice and snow, and prevent a partial abrasion by setting the widths of a broad circumferential linear groove, a circumferential rib, and a narrow circumferential linear groove and the depth of the narrow circumferential linear groove to specified values, and providing a sipe having a specified depth on the circumferential rib. CONSTITUTION: This tire has a broad circumferential linear groove 1 for partitioning a tread into lateral areas, circumferential ribs 2 laterally adjacent thereto, and narrow circumferential linear grooves 3 on the outside thereof, and their widths are set to 7-25%, 2.5-15%, and 0.5-5% of the tread width, respectively. Further, the groove depth of the narrow circumferential linear groove 3 is set to 50-100% of the broad circumferential linear groove 1, and a sipe 4 extended in the circumferentially slant direction is arranged on the circumferential rib 2, and its depth is set to 25-100% of the groove depth of the broad circumferential linear groove 1. Thus, the tread ground width and length are extended, a sufficient rigidity can be provided by the rib, and traction performance and cornering characteristic on ice and snow can be reconciled. |
