PURPOSE: To realize a device of new structure excellent in economy as well as excellent in heat resistant fatigue against a metal support for exhaust gas purification. CONSTITUTION: This is a honeycomb structured support on which first wave plates and second wave plates made of thin metallic plates and different in waveform structure are alternately a accumulated, and (1) the first wave plate 1, seen in the shaft direction of a metal honeycomb body, has a high waveform making contact with the second wave plate 2 on one end part and in a region of its neighbouring portion. (ii) In a region except for the one end and its neighbouring portion, it has a high waveform out of contact with the second wave plate or has a high waveform out of contact with the second waveform in a large region but in contact with it in a small region. (2) The second wave plate is constituted to have a triangle waveform in structure to connect a roughly equilateral triangle in the longitudinal direction. |
