<p>PURPOSE: To provide an air cleaner in which a float electrode is eliminated and whose equipment constitution is miniaturized. CONSTITUTION: A high voltage applying means 9 applies high voltage between a discharge electrode 2 and a counter electrode 3 through the discharge electrode 2 and a Zener diode 8. To an ionizer 4, voltage corresponding to the difference between voltage applied from the high voltage applying means 9 and fixed voltage formed by the Zener diode 8 is applied to generate corona discharge, and by this corona discharge, dust is charged to either positive or negative. Between a high potential side electrode 5 and a low potential side electrode of a collector 7, fixed voltage formed by the Zener diode 8 is applied, and in the collector 7, dust charged in the ionizer 4 is attracted and collected. Because of this constitution, air cleaning action is effected without installing a float electrode. As a result, an air cleaner is miniaturized, and since voltage is stably applied to the collector, stable operation is achieved.</p> |
