PURPOSE: To obtain an industrial antifungal agent capable of effectively inhibiting proliferation of fungi by a synergistic effect of a composition produced by combining an isothiazolone-based compound with a specific thiocyanate-based compound and a halocyanoacetamide-based compound. CONSTITUTION: This industrial antifungal agent comprises 4,5-dichloro-2- noctylisothiazoline-3-one of formula I combined with methylenebisthiocyanate of formula II and 2,2-dibromo-3-nitrilopropionamide. The antifungal agent expresses excellent antifungal activities and a broad antifungal spectrum by a synergistic effect and is capable of effectively inhibit the proliferation of wide range of fungi. It is especially useful as a slime control agent in a paper pulp industry. It is preferable to blend these three compounds at a weight ratio of 100:(10-8000):(20-18000), especially 100:(100-2000)-(100-4000). |
