PURPOSE: To provide a method of manufacturing a split bearing which can make break separation in a break prearranged part by dispensing with notching work further to enable also irregularity to increase in a break surface. CONSTITUTION: When a cast split bearing is solid bearing monobloc casting solidified, a cooling speed of a break prearranged part 4 is delayed as compared with that in the other part to be set to 5 to 10 deg.C/sec or less. In this way, a graphite grain size in the break prearranged part 4 is obtained about 20μm or more. When break separated in this condition, break separation is selectively generated in the break prearranged part 4, to increase also irregularity of break surfaces 5, 6.
