PURPOSE: To obtain a different shrinkage combined filament yarn imparted with fluff-like soft feeling and dry feeling in perfect harmony, having gracious glossiness, excellent in span-silk touch, bulkiness and light-weight feeling and further capable of producing a woven or knit fabric having delicate uneven feeling on the surface of the fabric by applying a heat treatment and a thinning treatment on a fabric. CONSTITUTION: This different shrinkage combined filament yarn is composed of plural filament yarns having different shrinkages. In the combined filament yarn, a single fiber constituting at least one filament yarn out of the multiple filament yarns becomes a fiber having multiple protrusion-type cross-sections which satisfy the following requirements (1) to (3) by a thinning treatment: (1) the cross-section has >=3 protrusions; (2) a protrusion has 2-30 slits in total; and (3) the tip of at least one of the protrusions has >=2 slits having the depth of 1-15μm.
