PURPOSE: To produce a grain oriented silicon steel sheet excellent in magnetic properties by specifying, at finish rolling, the surface temp. of steel sheet and the elapsed time between pass reductions, respectively, at the time of producing a grain oriented silicon steel sheet of specific composition. CONSTITUTION: This grain oriented silicon steel sheet is produced by using a silicon steel having a composition containing, by weight, 0.01-0.10% C, 2.0-4.5% Si, 0.02-0.30% Mn, 0.005-0.10% Al, 0.004-0.015% N, and 0.005-0.06% Se and/or 0.005-0.06% S and successively applying, heating, solution heat treatment, hot rolling, hot rolled plate annealing, cold rolling, decarburizing annealing, and finish annealing to a slab of this silicon steel. At this time, steel sheet surface temp. T( deg.C) on the inlet side at finish rolling is regulated to 1000-1200 deg.C, and also the elapsed time (t)(sec) from the completion of a first pass reduction at finish rolling to the starting of a second pass reduction is regulated so that it satisfies the relation in inequality t<=(T-600)/100. By this method, the grain oriented silicon steel sheet with low iron loss and high magnetic flux density can be obtained. |
