PURPOSE: To easily and surely protect a sewing section near the mounting face against inflater gas by arranging protective cloth on the internal surface of an inflater mounting face in an air bag for vehicles and fixing the end section of this cloth, extended more than the sewing section and put on a sewing margin. CONSTITUTION: An air bag comprises a belt-like body cylindrically sewn, and two sheets of cloth 2 for side face sections are sewn on both sides of the air bag, forming a bag. A flat face-like mounting face having a mounting hole 3 for inserting the tip of an inflater is formed on the base section of the air bag, and holes 5 through which a bolts are inserted are arranged around the mounting hole 3. On the internal face of the mounting face 4, a sheet of protective cloth for protecting it against inflater gas is put on it so as to surround reinforcing cloth 8. The end section 6a of the protective cloth 6 is arranged further extended than the sewing section 7 of the mounting face 4 and cloth 2 for side faces and sewn 9 put on the sewing margin 4a of the mounting face 4. |
