Mfr. technique for coloured optical filters for TV display screen

The mfr. is effected using a coloured product in a fluid state which is suitable to form the filter after hardening. The substrate is printed with a print head comprising a surface made of porous material (5) soaked with the coloured product. The print surface is textured (7-1, 8-1) in order to define the areas on which the coloured product is to be applied. The print head may be formed by mechanical abrasion or laser cutting to achieve the required design. The print substrate may be the final support for the filter, or alternatively an intermediate substrate may be used. The coloured product may be subject to a specific radiation - for example ultraviolet or infrared - in order to harden it.
