The floor protector consists of a sheet (6) which is interposed between the mobile floor (22) and the load of material (7) placed on it to prevent the grains from penetrating between the mobile floor's planks. The sheet is able to move relative to the floor in time with its motion cycles, so that the floor moves the sheet and the load at the same time. The sheet is in the form of a continuous strip, passing in a loop round two rollers (10, 11) situated at each end of the mobile floor and able to discharge the load at either end of the floor. It is made from a non-reinforced plastic with a good slip coefficient, e.g. polyethylene.
