The tripping element is operated by a current. The current is controlled by a programme running in a computer. The current flows through a switch (16a,24a). When the programme runs without interruption, the microprocessor drives a watchdog circuit (16b) at fixed intervals.The switch is opened when the driving of the watchdog circuit does not occur. In one embodiment the driving takes place by the delivery of a signal to the watchdog circuit. When the driving stops and acoustic and/or optical signal is generated.
