In fuel supply arrangements for internal combustion engines, the electric fuel pump that feeds the fuel distributor with fuel from the fuel tank is controlled or regulated on demand. Demand is determined by means of appropriate variables generated by the controller, by the electric fuel pump's own control or by a pressure regulator.
