The vehicle (10,11) has four wheels (22) with pneumatic tyres (R) like a normal road vehicle. These wheels may by connected to the body of the vehicle by a normal type of suspension and the back wheels may be driven in the normal way.There are additional flanged wheels (12,14), near the road wheels, designed to run on railway track. All the railway wheels may be driven, to give adequate adhesion. The railway wheels are mounted on swinging arms (16), pivoted (15) to the chassis (10) and are raised and lowered by hydraulic cylinders.
