PURPOSE: To provide a device excellent in heat resistant fatigue and economy by making a metal support for exhaust gas purification different from a conventional honeycomb structural body. CONSTITUTION: This metal support MS has a hollow cylindrical body part A of a desired diameter and desired length on its central part and is to be a flat plate or wave plate parallel arranged body B to support a catalyser arranging a desired number of thin metal plate made flat plates or wave plates having roughly the same hole parts as the outside diameter of the hollow cylindrical body part A on their central parts with desired intervals in the shaft direction on an outer peripheral surface of the hollow cylindrical body part A. Thereafter, it is formed of a front end part wall plate C1 having an exhaust gas inflow port F, a rear end part wall plate C2 arranged on a rear end part of the parallel arranged body B and holding members D1 , D2 holding at least a part of each of the flat plates or the wave plates constituting the parallel arranged body B. |
