PURPOSE: To remarkably reduce weight of this device compared with that in the case of providing two batteries, a battery for starting and a battery for load, by constituting the electricity storage device so that current necessary for the starting torque of a starter motor is supplied from a condenser. CONSTITUTION: This electricity storage device for automobile is provided with a battery 11, and an electromagnetic switch 14 which is arranged between the battery 11 and a starter motor 12 and controls starting of the starter motor 12. In addition, a condenser 15 capable of charging and discharging power from the battery 11 and arranged in parallel with the battery 11 is provided between the battery 11 and the starter motor 12. Between the condenser 15 and the battery 11, a first diode 16 allowing only current from the battery 11 to the condenser 15 and a charging switch 17 are provided. The electromagnetic switch 14 is energized so as to electrically connect the condenser 15 to the starter motor 12 at ON of a starter switch 13. |
