The infrared security code is projected through an infrared lens attached to the release system. The lens has blackened sections to form the infrared pattern. The transmitted pattern into the lock system is projected onto a glass- or plastic plate where it is compared with the stored infrared signal to release the lock. The decoding system is contained in a cylinder with a diameter of 10 to 30 mm and with a length of about 50 mm. Each coded system has unique patterns and is not easy to copy. The decoding key is sold with the equipment and is unique to that equipment.
