Windscreen radio frequency aerial for vehicle

The mobile aerial for reception of terrestrial signals is located on the windscreen of a road vehicle. The aerial has dish shaped cavity element (35) that provides a high frequency connection via the electrically conducting edge (31) and body (5) of the vehicle. The cavity element fits against the windscreen and the width (37) is at least a quarter wavelength of the operating frequency range. The element has good contact with the body provided by a screw connection (38) and printed conductor tracks on the windscreen are engaged with the aid of a conductive adhesive (6). Network elements are located in the cavity and a short antenna wire (8) projects from the outside.
