The device has upper and lower (1) casing parts between which the operating handle (30) or screw head (32) of a valve can be placed. A supporting connector (31) for the handle can be accommodated in the lower casing part so that the casing can rotate freely around it.A funnel-shaped cut (13) extends radially outwards from the centre of the lower casing part. Both the upper and lower casing parts may have projecting loops (14,24).
