Composite metallised glass panel with patterned metal interlayer

Glass panel, partic. composite glass panel has an intermediate layer (3) consisting of a grid, the spacings of which are small w.r.t. a radio wavelength, pref. <2.5 cm. A planar antenna (10) is pref. positioned behind the grid for microwave reception. Also claimed is a method of providing a grid pattern in an existing composite glass panel by laser incision of a metallisation interposed between two glass sheets. The metallisation is pref. divided into isolated separate surface in a grid pattern. The laser cut is guided around the embedded antenna wire.
