Determination of characteristics of granular medium

The characteristics or condition of granular medium, partic. a building material such as sand, are determined by a method in which the density and/or temp. of the medium is determined in addn. to the normal moisture content.Also claimed is an arrangement for the determination including a measuring probe (13) for moisture content associated with a pressure sensor (10) and/or a temp. sensor (12). A plastic disc (9) is put in front of the measuring probe and strain gauges are embedded in it. Temp. sensor may also be contained in the disc.
