A synergistic effect is achieved when biological fluids such as blood, seminal fluids or bone marrow is treated by a conventional treatment process while at the same time being subjected to a pulsed electromagnetic field. The treatment process may comprise administration of ozone or an oxygen/ozone gas mixture to inactivate viruses within the blood or other fluid, or administration of a drug. Preferably, the fluid is treated externally to the body, for example in a unit of desired volume. Treatment in vivo is also contemplated.
