摘要 A device to accelerate a rotor(1) in either rotational or translatory fashion uses at least one magnet (3) with its polar axis in the rotor's direction of movement. One each side of the movement path(2) is at least one magnet (5) whose polar axis is, or axes are, orthogonal to that of the first one(s). The facing poles of the second magnets are of like polarity. In actual fact, the first magnet or set of first magnets is formed from a pair (6,7) of magnets or sets of magnets, separated by a vertical non- magnetic wall (8), to which they are fastened. The second magnets are attached to blocks (9) of other magnets, aligned with the same polarity directions.
