The file may have a single fold in the cover like a book or it may have several folds giving a zigzag arrangement. There are writing pads (1) attached to the sheets (4,5) inside the covers (6,7).The sheets of paper forming the writing pads may be held in place by ring binders or a glued arrangement, and there is an arrangement of perforations (2) at the bottom corners of the sheets to assist in tearing them off. Further sheets (8,9) of information material may be fastened to the sides of the folds away from the writing pads.
