Exothermic reactions occurring in the presence of a catalyst, esp. the oxidn. of SO2 to SO3, are carried out in an apparatus in which heat from the reaction is brought through a tube out of the reaction zone of the apparatus which contains the catalyst. Also claimed is the apparatus for the process. |
