In order to permit particularly simple and sensitive application of adhesive and filler material, the invention proposes an instrument which is characterized by an elongate gripping body (1, 45) which is to be held in the hands like a pencil and which contains in its interior a chamber (22) for reception of the filler material and has a drive (6, 51) which acts upon adjustment means (5, 10, 49, 53) which are preferably movable in the axis direction into the chamber. On activation of the drive the adjustment means push the filler material present in the chamber out of an outlet orifice (23) in the chamber at the front end of the instrument.
