PURPOSE:To extend a repeater using an AGC pilot signal with a different frequency by generating the AGC pilot signal with a frequency different from a pilot signal frequency for an automatic gain control circuit(AGC) for an existing repeater. CONSTITUTION:Existing repeaters 11-13 are one-way transmission repeaters and apply AGC operation with an AGC pilot signal whose frequency is f1 sent from an AGC pilot signal generator 15 installed to a head end device 14. Extension two-way repeaters 16, 17 are extended to the existing repeater 13 to expand the service area for the CATV installation, then the two-way repeater 16 and the succeeding repeaters act like the AGC operation with an AGC pilot signal whose frequency is f2 sent from the extension use AGC pilot signal generator 18. Thus, the repeater with a pilot signal of a different frequency from the AGC pilot signal frequency for the existing repeaters is extended. |
