The two half shells (3) of the exhaust pipe in the assembled state form a round throughflow cross-section. The plate-type exhaust valve (2) has an elliptical peripheral profile, whereby the small axis of the ellipse is the pivot axis of the exhaust valve and corresponds to the inner dia. of assembled half shells. The exhaust valve and the bearing area of it are formed in one piece. The bearing area has a bearing axis (4) and a round bearing flange (6), which is adjacent to the exhaust gas valve and is accommodated in a cover recess (7) of the two half shells.
