PURPOSE: To prevent reduction in image density, etc., even if images are repeatedly formed by electrifying a positively chargeable single layer organic photoreceptor with a positive corona discharge and specifying time from the completion of a discharge to the start of the next electrification. CONSTITUTION: The surface of an organic photoreceptor drum 1 provided with a photoreceptor layer of a positively chargeable single layer constituted in such a manner that a charge transfer material of a combination of a hole transfer agent and an electron transfer agent and a charge generating agent are dispersed in a resin medium, on a conductive substrate such as an aluminium pipe stock is electrified by the positive corona discharge by a positive corona electrifier 2, to form an electrostatic latent image corresponding to an original image on the drum 1. After toner is transferred, the toner remaining on the drum 1 is removed to remove a residual charge with the whole exposure from a light source for the discharge 7. At this time, the rotational speed of the drum 1 is set so that the time (t seconds) from the completion of the discharge to the start of the next electrification satisfies equation 0.03<=t<=1, preferably 0.05<=t<=0.15, in accordance with the interval between the corona electrifier 2 and the light source for the discharge 7. |
