PURPOSE: To provide an angular speed sensor, and its using method, which can be mounted easily on a thin housing, e.g. an ECUBox, being set horizontally and can deal with a plurality of measuring axes easily. CONSTITUTION: The angular speed sensor comprises a piezoelectric oscillator 1 and electrodes 3-8 disposed on the upper and lower surfaces (sides 1 and 2). The angular speed sensor is supported, at a fixed end 10, by a supporting member 11 and disposed on a board 12 of a housing containing an electronic controller, for example, in parallel therewith. The electrodes 3-8 comprise drive electrodes 3, 4, feedback electrodes 5, 6 for self-excitation also serving as an oscillation monitor, and a detection electrode 7, disposed on the side 1, and a GND electrode 8 disposed on the side 2. The supporting member 11 is U-shaped and the oscillator 1 is fitted, at the fixed end 10, in an upper recess. |
