PURPOSE: To obtain both the compactness and convenience of an on-line handwritten character input device or a recognition device by easily and surely inputting even complicated KANJI(Chinese character) through handwriting operation without increasing the size of a writing surface. CONSTITUTION: In a normal entry state, strokes entered in entry frames 201-205 on a tablet are inputted as one character. In a divisional entry state, the character is divided and inputted by using the main entry frame 201 and subordinate entry frame 202. Some strokes of the character are entered in the subordinate entry frame 202 and inserted while being zoomed to an optionally specified place in the main entry frame or with the original size. The strokes in the main entry frame are inputted as one character. To specify the insertion place of the strokes, an encircling line or short line is entered in the main entry frame 201. With the encircling line, the position and size of the insertion place can be specified at the same time. |
