PURPOSE: To speed up the plotting of a polygon in respect to a polygon plotting device for inputting a command defining a polygon to be processed and including a command sort and vertex data and outputting raster data. CONSTITUTION: A shape analyzing means 22 judges whether a polygon to be processed is a plane figure or not, based upon the sort of a command 21. When the polygon to be processed is a plane graphic, a polygon vertex data processing means 25 executes processing such as surface/rear face judgement, coordinate transformation and color calculation for the polygon, a triangle organizing means 26 divides the processed polygon into plural triangles and a triangle plotting part 27 converts each triangle into raster data. When the polygon to be processed is not a plane fingure, a dividing processing means 23 divides the polygon into plural triangles, a triangle vertex data processing means 24 executes processing such as surface/rear face judgement, coordinate transformation and color calculation for each divided triangle and then the triangle plotting part 27 converts each processed triangle into raster data. |
