PURPOSE: To provide a detergent composition, containing a specific wholly anionic surfactant and a water-soluble bivalent metallic salt, excellent in detergency, foaming power and solubility, mild denaturing actions on dermal proteins, good in feeling of use and useful as a detergent for clothes, houses, kitchens, hair and bodies. CONSTITUTION: This detergent composition contains (A) a compound of the formula R2 is a 5-21C (branched)alkyl or an alkenyl; M is an alkali(ne earth) metal or an (alkanol)ammonium; A is H, a 1-3C alkyl or a group of the formula, (CH2 CH2 O)k [CH2 C(CH3 )HO]j CH2 COOM [(k) and (j) are each the polymerization degree and 0-20 and 0<=(k+j)<=20], etc.; (m) and (n) are each (k) and 0<=(m+n)<=20} and (B) a water-soluble bivalent metallic salt which is magnesium sulfate, magnesium nitrate, magnesium bromide, magnesium iodide, calcium nitrate, calcium chloride, calcium bromide or calcium iodide at 0.025-10 molar ratio X/Y of the wholly bivalent metallic ions (X) containing the component (B) to the wholly anionic surfactant (Y) containing the component (A). |
