<p>PURPOSE: To improve the charge property by incorporating such a resin as a charge controlling agent into a fixing resin that has a similar mol.wt. distribution to that of a specified component of the fixing resin and is prepared by introducing specified groups into a polymer compatible with the fixing resin. CONSTITUTION: This toner consists of a fixing resin containing a coloring agent and a charge controlling agent. The charge controlling agent is such a charge controlling resin that has a similar mol.wt. distribution to that of the component having <=20000mol.wt. in the mol.wt. distribution of the fixing resin and is prepared by introducing groups corresponding to quaternary ammonium salt as side chains into the main chain of a polymer compatible with the fixing resin. The amt. of groups corresponding to quaternary ammonium salt as side chains of the charge controlling resin is preferably controlled to 1.5×10<-3> to 1.5×10<-2> g per 1g of the toner. Thereby, a positive charge toner having excellent charge property, fixing property, offset resistance and strength can be obtd. by using such a charge controlling resin as a charge controlling agent that is prepared by polymn. of quaternary ammonium salt.</p> |
