PURPOSE: To provide a recording apparatus not contaminating the interior of the recording apparatus or a recording medium by the dripping of ink generated at the time of the replacement of a recording head. CONSTITUTION: In a recording apparatus wherein a recording head scans on a recording medium reciprocally to perform recording, the head carriage supporting the recording head to perform reciprocal scanning, carriage gutters 2006a, 2006b collecting the waste liquid generated in the head carriage, drains 2007a, 2007b discharging the waste liquid collected in the carriage gutters to the outside of the head carriage and the main body gutter stretched within the recording apparatus along the reciprocal scanning directions of the head carriage to receive the waste liquid from the drains are provided. |
