PURPOSE: To provide a multifunction polishing device capable of eliminating ill influence on a body and an environment by preventing scattering of dust produced by polishing work in a periphery of the device. CONSTITUTION: A polishing device 10 is furnished with a second bearing 52 installed on a polishing member 18, an elastic connecting member 54 fixed on a main body 12 and connected to the polishing member 18 through the bearing 52 and an engagement member 56 arranged between the elastic connecting member 54 and the polishing member 18 and to move in a direction orthogonal with an autorotating axis between a first position to release autorotating motion of the polishing member 18 and a second position to catch the autorotating motion. Additionally the polishing device 10 is furnished with a dust passage consisting of a plural number of holes 84 extended between a working surface 44 of the polishing member 18 and a non-working surface on the opposite side, a chamber 86 partitioned adjacent to the non-working surface and an air exhaust passage 34 of compressed air for driving to communicate the chamber 86 and a specified dust collecting section outside of a multifunction polishing device as a dust collecting means 22 to suck and collect dust produced by polishing work. |
